The Soapbox: Rants and Commentary: Wake Up America (?) Composed by Dan O'Leary(dano@cybercomm.net) August 2002 Visitor Brendan Wall (bwall@tradingcharts.com) recently sent me this: Sept 11 is a direct result of the abuse suffered by arab nations at the hands of americans. It is not an attack "On your freedom" as you are brainwashed to beleive.. Wake up America!!!! Okay, you'll have to explain this one to me. How exactly is the death of thousands of innocent American lives justified by any perceived "abuse" by the U.S. government's foreign policy? The World Trade Center was a huge symbol of American financial success. Dozens of other countries had representitives who worked there every day. There was nothing being done at the W.T.C. or on those three highjacked airplanes that would change anything on the opposite side of the world. It was a symbolic attack to provoke national fear, and nothing else. Targeting the armed forces or seats of power is a military strike. Targeting thousands of civilians is a cowardly act of fear-breeding. And it's spelled b-e-l-i-e-v-e. God bless (any god you choose, you're free to do that here), D.O. Waiting for a response.
