The Tick!
The universe of The Tick is the hilarious creation of Ben Edlund. The Tick is a nigh-invulnerable superhero, and his sidekick Arthur is an adventure-seeking (as long as it doesn't hurt too much) ex-accountant in a flying moth suit.
The duo and their bizarre cast of superhero friends have spawned several comic book series through NEC Comics, a cartoon series on Fox TV, a soon-to-be-released live-action series on Fox, and possibly an animated feature film in the future.

Where's The Tick Been Lately? (An Update - August 2001)
The Fox folks removed The Tick from its Saturday morning lineup a few years ago
(which still baffles me...why not show at night with "The Simpsons" and target an audience that
understands jokes like "Bi-Polar Bear?").
Comedy Central briefly ran the series, but couldn't understand why it couldn't get a regular
audience when viewers had no idea when it was showing.
But there's hope for a new Tick fix on the small screen with the upcoming live-action show this fall.
Slated as a mid-season replacement last year, it was held over as a regular for the fall 2001 TV season.
The show stars Patrick Warburton as the Big Blue Avenger and Liz Vassey is Captain Liberty, sort
of a not-to-infringe-copyrights American Maid.
