Get everything ready. You need a grill with a lid, charcoal, lighter fluid and a lighter. Chicken, yellow mustard, ketchup, honey and hot sauce. |

Remove lid :) Remove any old ashes and make sure the grill is clean and ready to go. Time required: 30 minutes to get charcoal ready. 1 Hour to cook chicken. |

Cover bottom of grill with one layer of charcoal or just use enough to cover the area you need for cooking. |

| Pile up the charcoal and apply lighter fluid according to the directions on the container. | ![]() |
| Light it! | ![]() |
| Let it go until the flames go out. | ![]() |
| Charcoal is almost ready. | ![]() |
| It takes about 30 minutes for the coals to ash over. | ![]() |
| When the coals are completely ash covered- spread them out. | ![]() |
| Apply grill. | ![]() |

Place washed chicken pieces on grill meat side down. Boneless, skinless chicken will work but best results are obtained when the skin is left on and the bone is left in. A small grill like this one will hold about 4 breasts or whole legs. |

| Cover and let cook for about 25-30 minutes. | ![]() |

Smokey flavor. While you're waiting make the honey mustard sauce. Mix equal parts honey, yellow mustard and ketchup. 6 ounces total is a good amount to start with for a small grill. Add hot sauce to taste. |

| Chicken is ready to be turned after about 30 minutes. | ![]() |

Apply BBQ sauce. Leave lid off for about 10 minutes to let charcoal breathe. Cover. Continue cooking for a total cooking time of one hour. |
