Ext.2374 On March 7th, at 3 pm, Skylands Writers & Artists Association will begin its season of free events with a celebration of Women's History Month in conjunction with the Northwest NJ Regional Women's Center at Centenary College. Well known New Jersey authors, Barabara Wind, poet of Summit who also writes for the Jersey section of the New York Times, Anne Cope Wallace, poet of Madison and author of Setting Psychological Boundaries: A Handbook for Women, Gretna Wilkinson, poet of Madison and professor of American Literaure at County College of Morris and author of Shhh, I'm Thinking, and Daniela Gioseffi, Founding President of Skylands Writers & Artists Association and an American Book Award Winning author of ten books of poetry and prose, including On Prejudice: A Global Perspective and Women on War: International Voices for the Nuclear Age, will present their poetry and prose. These women authors have read their works and been featured guest speakers at venues all over the country. An open reading for all who attend will follow. The microphone will be open for both men and women to read short poems or pieces of prose, written by themselves or any author, celebrating women's lives or expressing feminine concerns. |
