TJ Thomas Jefferson Message from the Main Office

Thomas Jefferson Middle School is dedicated to the promotion of academic excellence in a supportive enviornment which cultivates self-esteem, addresses the unique needs of the adolescent, and fosters repect for cultural diversity and the rights of others.

Thomas Jefferson Middle School continues to restructure in terms of the middle school model. We are currently in the process of developing terms and interdisciplinary approaches to learning. We have also been working hard on creating a positive atmosphere in the building. Conflict resolution techniques have been presented to the entire student population. Our school is concentrating its efforts on the development of academic excellence within all subject areas. Teachers are implementing strategies which present our current curriculum in new assessment format as presented on the grade 8 Early Warning Test. In addition, teachers have been reviewing the Core Curriculum Content Standards for their respective subject areas and adjusting their instruction to meet these rigorous standards. It is expected that our interdisciplinary efforts will also aid our students in being successful on future assessments set forth by the State of New Jersey. Our parents have been supportive of our efforts, and we hope this will continue to show the students we are a team in terms of developing the very best possible educational setting for the students.
