This demo shows how scripted images can be run as an animation with results similar to animated gifs. The advantages to the scripted animation are:

1) the images are fully cached
2) they always run in the proper sequence
3) start at frame 1 when they are supposed to.

Other advantages:

4) can give the visitor a button to stop the animation.
5) can give the visitor an animation speed control.

The only disadvantage of JavaScripted animations is that the total file size of all images is larger than a comparable animated gif (which is compressed).
