1. Duties – “must do”

a. Obey the law.

b. Pay taxes.

c. Defend the nation.

2. Responsibilities – “should do”

a. Know what the government is doing.

b. Voice your opinion about what the government is doing; good and bad

things.

c. Know your rights; so that you can protect them and use them.

d. Vote.

e. Hold public office.

f. Disobey laws that are bad or unfair; but be prepared for the punishment.
